I speak Cantonese natively, and I’m also a fluent speaker of Mandarin and Hakka. An interesting commonality among these languages is that they are the only languages that have a V-O word order and adopting pre-nominal RC parameter.
I started learning Korean during the work-from-home period in the pandemic. I find its richness in morphological inflections fun to learn, and at the same time, I’m very surprised by the similarities in the pronunciations of Cantonese and Korean vocab.
I’m an amateur player of piano and cello. I enjoy learning music theory and the process of analyzing the structures of music. As a member of St. Jerome Church’s choir, I sometimes arrange ensembles for wedding and festival performances.
